Cochran Chapel United Methodist Church Grows a Community Garden
[T]he LORD God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he placed the man he had made. (Genesis 2:8)
Gardens are made for people, and people are made for gardens! Gardens are life-giving places: places for food and fellowship, for work and rest, for enjoyment and amazement—and for connecting with God and neighbors.
Cochran Chapel UMC is pleased to announce the opening of its new Community Garden! The twelve raised beds to the south of historic Cochran House provide an ideal spot for families, groups, and individuals to plant and raise produce. Members of the community are welcome to work alongside members of the church and students from Oak Hill Academy, who are using the garden as a place to learn about and practice the arts of plant cultivation. For information about how you can become involved in the garden, please contact Karen Kahn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
